THE VANS X DISNEY PIXAR TOY STORY COLLECTION
As children, we often wondered if our toys came to life when we weren’t watching. In 1995, Disney’s Pixar piqued our imaginations with the release of Toy Story– instantly winning the hearts of children and adults around the world.
Vans is tickling our nostalgia and celebrating everyone’s favourite gang of toys with the release of the new Vans x Toy Story Collection. The film’s most beloved and memorable characters are immortalised on iconic Vans silhouettes.
For main character Woody, Vans has created a special version of the Authentic model with a “rootin’ tootin’” Woody print that sees the sheriff doing signature poses such as lassoing and tipping his hat. Waxed laces add to the cowboy theme. The ultimate nostalgic detail is found on the sole. In the movie, Andy scribbles his name on the bottom of Woody’s boots, and this very scribble can be found on the gum soles of this special Authentic model.
Though Woody was the leader of the adventures, things would be very different without the help and company of Andy’s other toys: Hamm, Slinky Dog, Rex and Bo Peep. Vans has created a special version of their popular Old Skool silhouette dedicated to this loyal crew of toys who accompanied Woody through thick and thin.
Buzz Lightyear is one of the newer additions to Andy’s collection, but the space ranger with out-of-this-world swagger quickly becomes one of Andy’s favourite toys. Vans is celebrating Buzz by releasing a special Sk8-Hi Reissue, featuring the space ranger in signature combat poses as well as glow in the dark stars – ideal for every aspiring space cadet.
For the little green extraterrestrials that have become icons in their own right, Vans has created an Era model with an all over alien print, a fun call out to the ubiquity of the creatures in the film. Wear these in the dark and discover a glow in the dark surprise hidden in the print.
These limited edition Vans will be released at WOAW Store on October 7th, in both adult and children sizes. To infinity… and beyond!
