The Skateroom Drops Artist Collab Sets at WOAW

WOAW introduces an exciting art drop this week featuring artist collaboration skateboard decks by The Skateroom. The collaborating includes contemporary fine artist and activist Ai WeiWei, neo-expressionism artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and psychedelic-pop artist Steven Harrington.

Teaming up with contemporary Chinese artist Ai Weiwei for the second time to launch a limited edition of his influential artwork “Study of Perspective – White House”. This new limited edition is based on Ai Weiwei’s provocative artwork that was presented during a controversial art exhibition “Fuck Off” which ran alongside the Third Shanghai Biennale in 2000.



The skateroom has also partnered with Jean-Michel Basquiat - legendary NYC street artist whom has made a statement for himself in the modern street art scene and inspiring future generations in the coming. The collection showcases editions of skateboards carrying some of the artist’s iconic paintings from the eighties creating a bridge between past and contemporary street culture.

Los Angeles–based artist and designer Steven Harrington (the leader of a contemporary Californian psychedelic-pop aesthetic). Best known for his bright, iconic style that encourages a two-way conversation between the artist and viewer. The piece highlighted on the deck - The anxiety series. The series took place at in Paris, during a time where the artist was experiencing and expressing his recurring bouts of anxiety.
