It’s time to embrace your most creative self as it’s March in Hong Kong, which can only mean one thing. Hong Kong’s art week will be in full swing in a matter of days, with Art Central kicking things off on March 20 for VIPs. Doors officially open from March 21 – 25.
In its third year, Art Central is back with full force with an impressive collection of over 100 galleries around the world. Like last year, it’ll be staged at Hong Kong’s scenic Central Harbourfront – we’re keeping our fingers crossed for good weather!
The galleries will be split into four sectors: ‘Central’ presents established and emerging galleries from Asia and beyond, ‘Rise’ features emerging artists whose exhibitions and art spaces have launched within the past six years; ‘Projects’ features large-scale installations (perfect Instagram backdrop!), and ‘Media x mumm’ is a showcase of video and new media installations, sponsored by Mumm champagne. The five-day program is a feast for the art-starved, including interactive installations, experimental film, performances and panel discussions to get your intellectual and creative juices flowing. The panels run off site at the nearby Asia Society, with incredible architecture built around the nature greenery of Hong Kong’s mountains, it is Admiralty’s best kept secret.
If you’re not that into art? (Don’t express that sentiment out loud over the next week though…) There are other incentives to join the frenzy. Art Central is partnering up with Le Marché for a sit down dining experience. For something more fun and casual, Street Food Central is bringing some of the hottest restaurants for open-air dining at the event. Favorites include: Little Bao, Teakha, Mrs Pound, Bread & Beast, and more!
Art Central runs in conjunction with Art Basel, the latter from March 23- 25. Visit the site here for the full program and to book your tickets!
